Abstract01 1/1/2003
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 This is my first attempt at making
abstract wallpapers. I looked through a gallery of wallpapers
that really got me thinking. I like the colors and composition,
but it seems a little too dull.
1280 x 1024 resolution. |
 |
Abstract02 1/5/2003
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 My second attempt at making a wallpaper.
This too is nice, but not my favorite. The 4 curves coming through
the middle were my starting point, but I like them the least
now.
1280 x 1024 resolution. |
Abstract04
1/6/2003
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 The title makes it pretty clear that
this is my fourth wallpaper idea. The simplest so far, but I
really like it. Choose your favorite color.
1280 x 1024 resolution. |
 |
 |
Abstract05 (tentative)
1/11/2003
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Done . . not done . . done . . not
done . . I don't know. I keep wanting to add more, but there
is nothing wrong with a (relatively) simple wallpaper. If I
get a brilliant idea, this image will evolve/develop.
1280 x 1024 resolution. |
Abstract06 3/22/2003
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 I made this a while back, and finally
decided to just put it online. I wanted to do more to it and
I wish it was 1280x1024, but I think it still looks good.
And as always, I looks good in any color, so I gave you some
options. If you have any Photoshop skills you can change the
hue and saturation to your exact preference.
1024 x 768 resolution |

 |
Abstract07 1/12/2003
Discreet 3DStudioMAX, Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Reflections
always look cool! Sometimes it's tough to make them look better
than the 3D program renders them, but I tried.
1280 x 1024 resolution. |
Abstract08 1/12/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 A year to the day from the previous
image. I guess I can say I learned a lot. I think this one looks
much better than the rest. Winter break seems to be the time
for wallpapers. The first is the original idea. The second is
the angry version. The third is the cool version.
1280 x 1024 resolution |
 |
 |
Abstract Space 2/17/2006
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 It's cold out there ... don't get
lost in abstract space :)
1600 x 1200 resolution. |
Algae 11/19/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 This is also a little side project
to distract me from my art project. I know it's pretty similar
to the other work I have, but I thought they were very interesting
and would look good as dual monitor wallpapers.
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor). |

|
Approach 5/28/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0, 3DStudio MAX I really struggled
with this one. I easily spent 8 hours just trying different
things. The final step was a passing thought that ended really
making it interesting. I may rework it a bit to have a variant
or two.
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor). |
 |
Axiomatic 4/20/2006
Adobe Photoshop CS I started with the basic premise of
the main curve. The rest of the image developed without much
thought. I'm studying for the GRE and the name of this image
is a vocabulary word. It means "possessing self evident
truth."
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor). |
 |
B
Babes & Britney 11/16/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 These two wallpapers were made by
request from my two coworkers, Matt and Kevin. The names aren't
really their signatures, but I thought it would be a nice touch.
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor). |
 |
 |
Blocks 1/17/2005
Discreet 3DStudioMAX, Adobe Photoshop 7.0 A simple yet
pleasant background. I think I might try a variation or two
off this theme. Reflective 3D cubes always look neat.
1600 x 1280 resolution |
 |
Blood Rayne (September 2004)
8/27/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 I found this great shot of Blood
Rayne and it was just begging to be a wallpaper. So with some
found images and a good bit of cleanup I made it so.
1280 x 1024 resolution |
Broadcast 2/8/2005
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 A friend showed me a neat effect
so I ran with it and came up with this. I'm not really sure
why I came up with this name, but it seems to fit ... somehow.
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor) |
 |
 |
Burning Cold 4/10/2006
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 This started out extremely simple
with just the color gradients, but the thought of cold came
to me, followed by heat, and thus developed this image. I fought
myself to try and keep it simple.
1600 x 1200 resolution |
 |
Button 6/11/2007
Adobe Photoshop CS2 I started wanting to do an abstract
image, but I ended up coming up with something completely different.
So? Do you wanna press da button?
1600 x 1200 resolution |
C
Creation 1/3/2006
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Not much to say about this image,
besides it looks pretty darn neat!

Darkness Ebbs 6/11/2007
Adobe Photoshop CS2, Apophysis A fairly simple fractal
combined with some fairly simple color can make a very nice
design. I am quite happy with the result.
1600 x 1200 resolution |
 |
Delicate 5/7/2008
Adobe Photoshop CS3, Apophysis I'm really happy with how this one turned out. There seems to be a very obvious feeling to the piece which makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
1600 x 1200 resolution |
Digital Cell 8/24/2005
Discreet 3DStudio MAX R5, Adobe Photoshop 7.0 After numerous
attempts at creating a digital cell, all my time and effort
has finally paid off. This is the first image of a stable digital
cell.
1600 x 1200, 2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor) |

Discuss 7/25/2005
Discreet 3DStudio MAX R5 Simple reflective 3D spheres.

Distraction 1, 2, 3, & 4
11/19/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 As the name indicates, this wallpaper
was a distraction from my homework. In the midst of doing some
preliminary visualizations for an art project I got distracted
with an idea and ran with it. I find the 1st one the neatest,
but they all look good going across 2 monitors.
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor). |

 |
Dragon Eye 1/13/2005
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Looking directly into a dragon's
eye is supposed to put the viewer into a trance where the dragon
has complete control over them.
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor). |
 |
E
Electricity 12/22/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 I'm not sure if this really looks
like electricity, but that's what it reminded me of. This wallpaper
looks so good on a dual monitor setup that it makes me wish
I had another monitor.
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor) and
1280 x 1024 resolution |
 |
 |
Entangle 3/12/2007
Adobe Photoshop CS2, Apophysis This is just a nice simple
layout with an orb of light being entangled by goo. This was
a spin off of another image I was making, and I think that I
like it more than the original.
1600 x 1200 resolution |
 |
Evolve 5/11/2007
Adobe Photoshop CS2, Apophysis I like green. It makes
me think of life. The spark like fractal represents a strong
and mysterious force. This is how I see the creation of life.
1280 x 1024 resolution |

 |
Fairy Dust 7/13/2007
Adobe Photoshop CS3, Apophysis If you are ever walking
in the woods and pay close attention, you might catch a glipse
of a fairy or maybe even the dust they create. It has a very
intoxicating scent and will make you forget all your worries.
1600 x 1200 resolution |
 |
Flake 4/15/2008
Adobe Photoshop CS3, Apophysis Here's another fractal based image. This was a quick design compared to many of my wallpapers. I tried to move quickly and just do what felt right. I like the contrast between the clean, vector imagery and the more chaotic and pattern like fractal.
1600 x 1200 resolution |
Flanel 5/28/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 I wanted to make something unlike
any of the designs I had already created. My mind impulsively
tells me to add more to the image, but I fought back and left
it very simple.
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor). |
 |
Flare 1/17/2005
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 As the sun crests the horizon of
the moon during a solar eclipse, an enormous flare erupts from
the surface of the flaming horizon.
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor) and
1280 x 1024 resolution |
 |
Flower 1/3/2006
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 More abstract fluid stuff. So simple
and yet so complex, or maybe the other way around.
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor). |
 |
 |
Furai 1/21/2008
Adobe Photoshop CS3 The 2008 Mazda Furai Concept is such an amazing car that I had to create a wallpaper for it. The complex and intricate curves make the body seductive and intense. The name Furai mean “sound of the wind."
1600 x 1200 resolution |

Graffiti Explosion 3/7/2006
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Another happy accident. I really
like the way the color explodes onto the city in the form of
graffiti.
2560 x 1024 resolution |
 |
Grid Smoke 1 11/5/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 It seems I invariably return to the
grid as an element in my work. I will try to expand beyond that
in the future. This is designed for the largest of resolutions.
The grid on the wallpaper will match the icon placement on a
Windows system with normal dpi settings. As always, more than
one color scheme to chose from. After all, variety is the spice
of life.
1600 x 1200 resolution |
 |
Grid Smoke 2 11/5/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 This was a spin off from the Grid
Smoke 1. It is a lot more harsh. Again, RGB and Grayscale variants.
For the picky web surfer :)

Ice 12/8/2006
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 I wanted to make an image that would
give the viewer chills. Expressing temperature with an image
is a cool idea. Hahahahaa, puny.
1600 x 1200 resolution |
Infected (October 2004)
10/5/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Wallpaper for October 2004 based
off another effect I stumbled onto that looks like cells. The
first version is the original and is red for red blood cells.
The second version is orange and green for a more Halloween
feel.
1280 x 1024 resolution |

J
Jealousy 4/13/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 I created this wallpaper so those
that are lucky enough to have a dual monitor setup can show
it off appropriately!!!
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor). |

Jennifer Garner 2/2/2005
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 This wallpaper was made by request
of my coworker Ray. However, I'm quite fond of Jennifer Garner
myself. I'd like to try a more grunge style version as well.
1600 x 1280 resolution |
 |
Jem 6/19/2006
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 This was made using a Wacom tablet.
The image started out as a space scene, but as I worked on it
other ideas seemed more interesting. It's fun to see how an
image can evolve as you work on it.
1600 x 1280 resolution |

Lamborghini Murcielago GT
8/14/2003
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 This is an older wallpaper I just
found again. I kept it simple so you could focus on how AWESOME
this car looks.
1280 x 1024 resolution |
 |
Letdrop 5/11/2007
Adobe Photoshop CS2 The name for this image is sort of
a play on words. I was originally going to call this Droplet.
The abstract feel made that seem too simple, so I swapped the
two syllables.
1280 x 1024 resolution |
Liquid Fire6/29/2005
Discreet 3DStudio MAX 5, Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Here's another
"simple" 3D wallpaper. I tried various color schemes,
but this one seemed the most interesting.
800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024, 1600 x 1200, & 2560
x 1024 resolutions |

 |
Logos11/5/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 I'm trying to go for a more simple
and clean design. Only a red and green version here. I really
like the way these turned out and will hopefully be able to
make more.
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor). |

Melt12/21/2005
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 It was in the low 40's when I made
this (cold for this Floridian) so it has a distinctly chilly
feel to it. You might need mittens if you use this wallpaper.
1600 x 1200 resolution |

Plasma 7/8/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 After accidentally stumbling across
this technique to make interesting abstract shapes, I kind of
went crazy and just couldn't help making a bunch of variations.
1280 x 1024 resolution |
 |
Plasma Strings 7/8/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Based off the same technique as the
Plasma images below, but with another filter or two on top of
it.
1280 x 1024 resolution |
 |
Pressure 1, 2, & 3
3/21/2005
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 More dual monitor wallpapers. It
just seems more fun to have a wider area to work with. The 2nd
and 3rd are intentionally very simple. Nothing much to say.
If you like them, use them.
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor) |

|
 |
Pseudo Space 1/13/2005
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 This image makes me think of space
in another dimension. There's the sense of light and form, but
it's all so ephemeral that it doesn't quite feel solid.
1600 x 1280 resolution |
R
Red Sun 4/20/2007
Adobe Photoshop CS The name is pretty self explanatory.
Inspired by traditional eastern art, but modernized a bit. I
always have to fight my urge to keep adding more, but I think
it's complete enough as is.
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor). |
 |
 |
Remember 11/28/2006
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 This is my first patriotic wallpaper.
It evolved quite a bit as I worked on it. I didn't intend to
have the Sears Towers silhouette, but it fits nicely. I also
like the title referring to both the tragedy of Sept 11th and
the Declaration of Independence.
1600 x 1200 resolution |
 |
Render 6/29/2007
Apophysis, Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Based on my very first
fractal render from Apophysis. I suspect all the digital artists
know the term render. I started tweaking this image in Photoshop
without any particular idea in mind. I'm very happy with how
this image worked out.
1600 x 1200 resolution |
Ritual 7/25/2005
Discreet 3DStudio MAX I'm always impressed with how simple
3D scenes can look so neat. Here is an example of this. Just
a couple minutes of setup time, a nice camera angle, and few
minutes or rendering time can look so cool.
800 x 600, 1024 x 768, 1280 x 1024, 1600 x 1200, & 2560

Scuba Monkey 4/11/2006
Adobe Photoshop CS 2 This is my first illustrated character
that didn't aim to be realistic. I made this for Scuba
Monkey Software, thus the triple play on words. The proofreading
markings came to me out of the blue and is one of my favorite
elements.
1280 x 1024 resolution |
 |
Shift 1/9/2008
Adobe Photoshop CS 3, Apophysis 2.0.6There was only a slight bit of Photoshop work done to this fractal. I really like how it unfractal like it looks. Almost feels like a painter made the strokes.. It makes me think of movement, light, and expression. This is the kind of feeling that I like to see in abstract images.
1600 x 1200 resolution |
 |
Seeing Red 11/11/2006
Adobe Photoshop CS 2 A simple black and red scheme. I
like the sense of depth in this image.
1280 x 1024 resolution |
Spectrum 8/30/2006
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Some comments from a web visitor
sparked the idea for this image. The image looks deceptively
simple, but it was quite challenging to create.
2560 x 1024 resolution (for dual monitor). |
|
 |
Sunrise 9/25/2005
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 I started this image with a beautiful
sunrise picture from the Internet. I've had the idea to do something
like this for some time. My previous attempts never satisfied
me. This one seems to at least get close.
1600 x 1280 resolution |
Suzuki GSXR 04 & Variations
11/16/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 This one I made for myself. I just
love this bike! I hope to own a Suzuki GSXR 600 at some point.
I Even the headlight design looks awesome. I added the Dark
variant and a basic variant in 4 different resolutions.
1280 x 1024 resolution for the first two

1/05/2005
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Another great little effect got me
going on these. It's amazing what you can do with one tool and
one filter! I felt that the teal color was appropriate for the
tech theme, except for the passion theme. Each quote is different
so check out all 4 of the variations.
1600 x 1280 resolution. |

Testing 11/10/2005
Discreet 3DStudio MAX, Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Another design
that incorporates 3D elements. The teal and red color scheme
seemed odd at first, but it seems to work at a low brightness.
1600 x 1200 resolution |
 |
Traffic 4/18/2007
Adobe Photoshop CS 2 This started with a desire to make
an orange wallpaper and evolved from there. I never use orange
because it usually looks nasty, but I took the challenge. I'm
quite happy with the result.
1600 x 1200 resolution |
 |
Tribal Taffy
6/25/2005
Adobe Photoshop CS 2 More practice with the Wacom tablet
and using color. It only took about an hour to put this together.
The color sure does make this image stand out.
1600 x 1200 resolution |
Twirl 7/25/2004
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 More designs with the plasma technique
I'm so fond of right now. This was based off a simple twirl,
as the name suggests. The inverted image looked interesting
enough that I decided to provide that as well.
1280 x 1024 resolution |

Vines 3/12/2007
Adobe Photoshop CS 2, Apophysis Slightly inspired by
the game Okami which has an amazing style to it. The fractal
pattern was made in Apophysis. I like they way it came out,
and I think I will continue to combine fractals with photos
or drawings.
